laika
The Incas worshipped the sun and the moon. They already had an interest in space and the stars in the sky. The last of the Laika, an Inca tribe, proclaimed their ideas and dreams about the earth in the 1950s. Who could have dreamed that a Laika would go into space in 1957? A stray Russian dog, plucked from the streets of Moscow, would become the first animal to orbit the Earth. Sometimes special moments arise from unexpected corners of the globe.
